Frequently Asked Questions/ FAQ
Are online photography courses effective?
Yes, an online course can be just as effective as a traditional face-to-face program. The structure of the course, number of assignments and level of interaction is very similar. Additionally, online courses such as ours offer more flexibility, with opportunities to ask practical questions and receive important tips for faster progress, such as via our online interactive chat support or weekly Q&A sessions.
Do I need prior experience?
No, many of our courses are designed for complete beginners.
Do I need a camera to start?
Yes, it is highly recommended to have a camera when starting your course, as it will allow you to practice. It does not have to be expensive or high-end, and a basic DSLR such as the EOS 4000D (aka Rebel T100) would be perfect, as it has most of the features (manual mode, exposure, shutter speed, ISO sensitivity) of professional cameras.
What topics are covered in your courses?
Our courses are divided in two categories, “Complete course” and “Specific module”. The complete course covers most aspects of photography on an amateur or professional level. These aspects of using the equipment (camera and accessories) include settings, composition and creative rules, lighting, postproduction/ retouching. A specific module will only focus on one aspect and can be bought separately.
How are your online courses organised?
Each of our online photography courses includes explanations of concepts and techniques through video tutorials, assignments and resources. A quiz at the end of each course will ensure your progression.
How much do your online photography courses cost?
The prices of our courses vary depending on the content (complete course or specific module) and their complexity (beginner courses vs professional courses). Please consult our online course page for exact prices.
Can I learn at my own pace?
Yes, once purchased all of our courses remain available for twelve months.
Will I learn photo editing too?
Yes, we do offer courses which specifically focus on editing/ retouching. These courses are available as stand-alone modules and can be purchased separately. You will learn to edit your images using Lightroom and Photoshop.
Will I learn both theory and practical skills?

You will therefore focus on mastering all aspects of your camera, such as knowing how to control light and compose your images, while also learning fundamental concepts such as the inverse square law.
How long does it take to complete a course?
Completing courses such as “Photography 101” usually takes from three to six months, depending on your availability. Specific modules (Composition 101, Lighting 101) take in average three to four weeks each to be completed.
